Young Revolutionary Poetry is a collective of Los Angeles spoken-word artists whose mission is to bring about social change through words.  They produce performances at the iconic Maverick's Flat in Inglewood as well as orchestrate what they have dubbed "The Artists Marketplace." These Saturday gatherings blend performance, discussion panels and opportunities for artists to sell their merchandise at gallery space in Hawthorne.

As a member of the Young Angels' incubator program, YRP is learning how to monetize their passion for social justice and performance and make not just art, but but also profit.  Mixing art and business, they are growing both as wordsmiths and as producers.  In the incubator, they are learning about merchandise and marketing, live event production, alternative fundraising, non-profit development and financial management.  In keeping with the overall philanthropic mission of Young Angels, they are also committed to serving the community by offering benefit performances, working in the classroom, and developing as life-long community activists.

As Emerging Chairman, Justin Ramirez says, "This group is some of the finest young talent I have seen in Los Angeles in years.  Their ability to blend their belief with their ambition is impressive."  Director Rachel Butler-Green adds, "It is a pleasure to mentor such motivated and articulate young people."
