Khalid Duell attended the Young Angels rap writers' workshop sponsored by Revibe the Movement in 2011.  Revibe, a hip hop media hub, appointed established rapper, Darien Benard, (Khao 310) to lead the workshop which was held at Locke Tech High School.

Khalid, ( Yung Phaze), then went to work on his professional career, staying in touch with Khao and Young Angels for guidance. Last week, he reached out to Young Angels' Executive Director, Brook Dougherty, with this ask: "I'm ready to record and fundraise to get a used Mac lap top.  It doesn't have to be new, it just needs to be recent. You always said, Mrs. Dougherty, that an artist should have their own equipment, and I don't know how I'm going to get mine unless I have some help."
